The Minnesota Death Collaborative is your resource
for bridging the gap from life to death,
for navigating the journey,
and for reconnecting to the natural aspects of death

Dear Community,
As Covid continues to explode in our communities, we are keenly aware of the pressure it is putting on our frontline healthcare workers. They are under an extraordinary amount of stress around issues of personal safety, staffing, experiencing the intense loss of patients, and the grief of their families as well as concerns about their own exposure. While we won't solve any of the issues they continue to face, we can offer up something as a gesture of goodwill as well as our concern for their personal health and wellbeing.
The Minnesota Death Collaborative is creating simple grief kits that can be used before and after each shift. They will include a votive, a grounding essential oil rollerball and an invitation to a simple ritual.
It is our hope that it will also remind them that they are not alone and there are many who are grateful for their work and personal sacrifice.
We would like to give these kits out to as many healthcare workers in the Twin Cities as possible.
We need your help.
Each kit costs $3 and will be assembled and delivered by MNDC volunteers starting the week of December 14th. Any size donation is welcomed and will be put directly towards this effort.
Please send contributions directly to https://paypal.me/MNDeathCollab?locale.x=en_US.
Thank you for considering this gift to our community.
Peace,
The MNDC Steering Committee

MNDC Steering Committee Response to George Floyd Murder

George Floyd's murder affected his family and friends, our community, our nation, and the world. His cries, and the cries of so many others whose lives have been minimized through unjust treatment or who have suffered from the oppression of racism, are being heard in Minnesota, the United States, and around the world. George Floyd’s death has affected all of us in one way or another, and we have yet to see what shifts and changes will come from it.
The MNDC Steering Committee feels that we have a responsibility to support and serve during this critical moment in history, which also presents an invitation for all of us to work toward dismantling our own racism, and to strive for a more just and peaceful world. In doing the work of supporting, serving, and creating change from within, we can also create change more broadly, thereby affecting our families, friends, community, nation, and the world.
We are Listening; We are Learning
In response to The Collective for Radical Death Studies call for action, Minnesota Death Collaborative will be donating $200 to the Minnesota Freedom Fund. We are calling on our professional partners to match our donation, and are also inviting MNDC Members to donate in honor of George Floyd. Any amount is meaningful and welcome!
We will continue to listen, learn, and take action in other ways that can have a lasting, positive impact within our community and beyond. We stand in support and solidarity with our sisters and brothers of color. There is much work to do.
